The Work
Inside the Process
My work incorporates everyday materials that link the viewer to their own memories and emotions. Bullet casings, bread tie tabs, and scraps of a child’s art evoke a personal sensation, packed with layers of symbolism that make one laugh or recover a glimpse of the past. I love intense color and seeing unusual shades next to each other, just as I love intense people from divergent backgrounds, and a blended and unpolished neighborhood—old and young, shabby and manicured, all sharing experiences and sharing a street. My art draws from the absolute vividness of life.
